Hi everyone, Eugene here with Darkroom Software. In the fast-paced world of photo booths and event photography, efficiency is everything. The fewer steps between capturing an image and delivering it, the smoother your workflow — and the better your customer experience. In this post, I’ll walk you through some powerful automation features in Darkroom Core that will help you eliminate unnecessary prompts, speed up printing, and securely share images online.

1. Simplify Printing by Disabling Prompts

By default, Darkroom Core may ask for copies or print receipts. While useful in some cases, these extra steps can slow things down. By disabling the copies prompt and receipt option in your general and fulfillment settings, you can streamline the process from capture to print.

2. Use Quick Print for Faster Orders

Instead of routing images through the shopping cart, you can set packages (like a 4×6 print) as Quick Print items. This lets you instantly send images to the printer with a single keystroke — no extra clicks required. Learn more in the Darkroom Help Center.

3. Enable Auto Print for True Hands-Free Capture

Want the ultimate automation? With Auto Print, every photo captured with your tethered camera is automatically sent to the printer. No keyboard shortcuts, no extra steps — just capture and deliver.

4. Share with Event Gallery and QR Codes

Automation doesn’t stop at printing. Darkroom Core integrates with Event Gallery, allowing you to auto-upload images to a secure, hidden gallery. A QR code can be printed alongside each image, giving customers instant access to their private photo without exposing the gallery to the public. More information in the Darkroom Help Center.

5. Add a Creative Twist with Keychain Photo Viewers

For an added upsell or guest souvenir, you can create 4×6 prints with multiple images that can be cut out and inserted into small photo viewer keychains. This nostalgic workflow — reminiscent of amusement parks in the 80s — is now easier than ever thanks to automation and templates in Darkroom Core. Wrap-Up
Whether you’re working in a high-volume environment like a theme park, or running a photo booth at a corporate party, these automation techniques save time and elevate the guest experience. Less clicking, more capturing — that’s the power of Darkroom automation.
