Yes, you can use an unlicensed version of Darkroom Booth to design templates. This is handy if you typically use a computer other than your photo booth computer to design graphics. Most photo booth operators have computers dedicated or installed in their photo booths with their licensed version of Darkroom Booth. And then use another computer for graphic design. Install and use Darkroom Booth software on any computer in trial mode to create templates in tandem with Photoshop or whatever image editing program you prefer. Transfer finished templates to your photo booth computer in any number of ways including email, an online cloud service like dropbox or a good old fashion jump drive.
Below is a video tutorial with more details.

How do I remove the unlicensed note from my photo
Hi Erika, the “unlicensed” note would indicate that you are running an unlicensed copy of Darkroom Booth in trial mode. If you need assistance with your license please contact our support team by visiting our support page, emailing [email protected] Live support is available M-F 9am to 5pm Central Time. Thanks for using Darkroom Software!
The one watermark at the bottom always covers what I am trying to print when testing so I is very annoying. Why cant the watermarks be a lighter opacity?? Please fix this to help us!
Hello Jean, the watermark is how we protect our trial version. There is no way to run the trial version without the watermark. There is an option to purchase a 10 day license on the Darkroom Booth product page: https://darkroomsoftware.com/products/booth
If you have any other product questions you can email [email protected]
